What To Expect From Morpheus 8 Treatment

Morpheus 8 combines two techniques:

  • Microneedling – This minimally invasive procedure uses tiny needles to make holes in the surface of your skin, which stimulates new collagen production.
  • Radiofrequency – RF is fractional thermal energy that helps break down old collagen and tissue so it can be replaced by healthier, younger-looking skin.

The device is passed over the treatment area to cause small “injuries” to your skin, prompting it to heal itself and produce the new skin you want. Depending on the size of the area being treated, your session could take anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour.

While Morpheus 8 results don’t show immediately like some other treatment methods, you’ll normally see results within a week, and your skin will continue to improve over the course of several months.

Your technician will go over the medications and supplements you take during your consultation and may recommend stopping some of them before treatment. You will also be advised to avoid sun exposure as much as possible and use sunscreen with SPF 30 or more for two weeks prior to your session.

Your technician will apply a numbing cream to the area being treated before they begin, so you should not feel any pain. You also don’t need to plan for any downtime afterward.

Some clients do experience light swelling or bruising after their sessions, but these effects generally go away quickly. You can also apply ice packs to the affected areas to help speed the process along.

We recommend these additional aftercare steps:

  • Don’t apply sunscreen/creams to the treatment area for 24 hours.
  • Don’t apply makeup to the treatment area for 48 hours.
  • Avoid strenuous exercise for a few days.
  • Avoid swimming, saunas, hot tubs, or steam rooms for a few days.
  • Avoid prolonged sun exposure for two weeks.
